Which certification does my product need in the EU, UK, US or Japan?
Say how the product is powered, whether it has a radio, whether it is made for children and whether it touches skin or food, and pick your markets. We match your answers to the scope of each conformity rule we have read, and show which rules apply, how conformity is shown (self-declaration or third-party testing) and which official page says so.
We have read 17 rules in four markets. Each fact is shown with the wording of the official page and the date we read it; 4% of the facts we looked for are not stated yet. We never say a product needs no certification: a result names the rules we checked and, next to it, the areas we have not read (for example hazardous-substance, chemical, battery and recycling rules).
How to read the result
- Applies. Every condition in the rule's scope matches your answers.
- Applies, with conditions to check. The scope matches your answers but adds conditions your answers cannot settle, such as a voltage range, exceptions or a list of products. The conditions are shown.
- Not triggered. Your answers do not meet the rule's scope. This is not a statement that your product needs no certification: other rules, which we list as not checked, may apply.
